Saif Ali Khan has been dominating headlines as the brutal stabbing on him and a burglary attempt at his residence sent shockwaves across the country. It has led to different reactions, as politicians are weighing on the safety standards in the city, celebrities are concerned about their security, and fans are praying for the actor's good health. Amid this, Police authorities are relentlessly investigating the case from all angles.
A day after Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at his Mumbai home, news about the police detaining a key suspect made headlines. A video went viral in which the suspect was seen being taken into the Bandra police station. Not much was known about him, and it was yet to be confirmed whether he was the same suspect seen in the CCTV footage gathered from Khan's building on the night of the incident. But, in a new statement, the authorities clarified that no one has been detailed in the cases linked to the actor.
The update comes after the police had entrusted 20 teams to investigate the case, where one was trying to collect information from police informers, another is evaluating the technical evidence, and so on. At the same time, Bandra police have registered a case of attempted robbery, causing grievous hurt with the intention of robbery, trespassing, and more under other sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita
During the late hours of January 16, 2025, Mumbai Police released images of an unidentified man captured on CCTV cameras from the Saif Ali Khan apartment building at 2:33 am. The man was seen running down the stairwell, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. The suspect was seen carrying a backpack and had an orange scarf. According to the official statement released by Khan's team, there was also a burglary attempt at his residence.
According to a report by Lokmat, the intruder was reportedly hidden in the Omkara actor's 4-year-old son, Jeh's room before the incident occurred. Consequently, the little one's nanny saw him and shouted for help when Saif rushed to tackle him. During the process, Saif and the nanny got hurt. He reportedly sustained six stab wounds with a major cut near his spine and is undergoing treatment in Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai.
